Mandate

Shelter is fundamental to individual and family well-being, therefore the mandate of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation Housing Committee is to improve the living conditions of all members of the community by providing the ways and means to access housing and housing related essentials, through various financing programs, rental accommodations and construction advisory services on the Aamjiwnaang First Nation.

2017 Highlights

  • Received during 2016/2017 & 2017/2018 $1,207,911.00 in grants through the Social Infrastructure Fund (S.I.F.) for the following:
    • RRAP……………….$253,359.00 – 6 units
    • RRAP Disability…$11,200.00 – 1 unit
    • ERP………………….$44,485.00 – 8 units
    • HASI………………..$6,575.00 – 2 units
    • Retrofit S.I.F……..$892,292.00 – 69 units
    • …………………………$1,207,911.00

Housing Services

  • Emergency and Renovation loans.
  • R.B.C. loans for new construction or renovations with loans ranging from $25,000.00 to $150,000.00.
  • Rental units including; apartments, duplexes, seniors’ complex and duplexes, single family dwellings.
  • Weekly inspections with a qualified inspector.
  • Assist members with annual R.R.A.P. , H.A.S.I. and E.R.P. grants offered through C.M.H.C. to help homeowners who qualify for home renovations
